Butterfly Monitoring Introduction

Venue: Meet at Panthers Clubhouse
Duration: Say 30 minutes introductions and set up plus 1 hour walk

This session will introduce new volunteers to the FOHW butterfly monitoring walk. Previous volunteers wishing for a refresher are welcome to attend.

The session will begin by reviewing the best conditions for spotting butterflies, butterfly identification, the route of the transect walk and how to use the recording sheets. Weather permitting, the group will then complete the transect walk and fill in the record sheet.

Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for the weather and the walk around Hell Wath, and bring any refreshments you may require during the session. Any questions, please contact sec.fohw@gmail.com.
