Increasing Wildflowers on Hell Wath

10.03.2023 | Latest News

Thanks to an initiative by one of our members, agreed at a Members Activity Group meeting, a scheme to increase the native wildflower diversity of Hell Wath’s meadows has begun. Volunteers have received a wildflower seed pack in exchange for a donation of £5. The idea is that volunteers plant their allocated seeds and nurture the plants until they are big enough to plant out across the meadows. This will be a planned volunteer activity in late spring / early summer. If successful the scheme will be repeated in future years.

The reduction in numbers and variety of insects is a real concern and this is just one small step we can take to increase the diversity of native wildflowers, to support existing and attract new insect species to Hell Wath.
