National Trust volunteers will be on Hell Wath to help with maintenance of our grasslands and blackthorn scrub. This session will concentrate on mowing the grass within the rabbit-proof enclosures and removing the grass cuttings. This will promote better growth and plant diversity next year. They will also cut back any hawthorne and blackthorn re-growth acrss the Somme meadow, leaving some to grow round the perimeter of the meadow to act as natural barrier and guide walkers onto the footpaths.

NT Volunteers are usually on-site until 2.30pm. FOHW volunteers are welcome to attend and help out at any point during the day. Please wear suitable clothing for the activity and the weather.
